Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has cancelled his scheduled Kerala visit due to unavoidable reasons. He was expected to campaign for the Congress in Kozhikode constituency amid the state Assembly elections, following Rahul Gandhi’s inability to attend due to Sonia Gandhi’s ill health. Though invited by the Kerala PCC and planning a brief trip via special flight, the visit was ultimately called off citing time constraints and other commitments.
State Endowments Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer instructed officials to ensure smooth conduct of Sri Rama Navami celebrations at Bhadrachalam without any lapses. Key events, including Sitarama Kalyanam on March 27 and Maha Pattabhishekam on March 28, must be held seamlessly. She reviewed arrangements via video conference with senior officials, including Collector Ankit and Sub-Collector Mrinal Shrestha.

The state government has begun disbursing Rythu Bharosa financial assistance to farmers in phases. The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao in Siddipet district. From Monday, funds started reaching farmers’ accounts, with ₹6,000 credited per acre initially. However, regardless of landholding, the first phase benefit has been limited to one acre per farmer.
Senior leader and former minister T. Jeevan Reddy expressed disappointment that his decade-long political struggle was overlooked by the party leadership. Speaking after a meeting with party emissaries at his Jagtial residence, he said his journey in politics was filled with hardships. Gold prices in India continued their downward trend on March 24, with 24-carat gold falling by ₹2,940 to ₹1,40,650 per 10 grams in Hyderabad, according to GoodReturns. In a key ruling, the Supreme Court stated that individuals who convert to Christianity or other non-Hindu religions are not eligible for Scheduled Caste (SC) status. A bench of Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and N.V. Anjaria upheld the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s verdict, reiterating that SC benefits apply only to Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists under existing constitutional provisions.
