Team India wins a World Cup after 13 years! Three legendary players announced retirement!

On Saturday, June 29, India clinched the T20 World Cup 2024 title by defeating South Africa in a thrilling final, winning by 7 runs. This victory marks a significant milestone for the Indian Cricket Team, securing their first ICC trophy in 11 years, their first World Cup in 13 years, and their first T20 World Cup in 17 years.

Captain Rohit Sharma, King Virat Kohli, and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have decided to retire from T20 Internationals following their World Cup victory. BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced a whopping prize of 125 crores for the Indian Cricket Team players. The Indian World Cup squad, including the reserves, as well as former players and politicians, expressed their joy and congratulations on social media.

Rohit Sharma shared a picture of himself sleeping alongside the trophy, while Virat Kohli posted photos of the team lifting the trophy and thanked his wife in a separate post. Other team members, including Rishabh Pant, Surya Kumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Sanju Samson, Khaleel Ahmed, and Yuzi Chahal, shared emotional posts on their Instagram accounts.

Pacer Mohammed Shami congratulated the Indian team and Captain Rohit Sharma on their historic victory. Additionally, legends such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and many others extended their best wishes to the Indian team. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to social media to thank the Indian players for making the nation proud.
